The Founders

The founders of Solarix are seasoned professionals with a long and prestigious background in the Solar manufacturing sector. Napoli Gomez and Carlos Class Sr met in 2014 when they were working for Meyer Burger, a major solar equipment supplier. There they were involved in the development of the Heterojunction Solar Cell and participated in engineering and construction of the first heterojunction solar cell manufacturing pilot plant.

With their extensive engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and operational experience in the solar market, Napoli and Carlos Sr. understood that a 100% U.S. based solar manufacturing facility could be competitive and provide numerous benefits to the US solar market. From 2021 through 2022 numerous site visits and equipment supply research was done seeking the best available technology.

In 2022, Carlos Class Jr. was added to the team bringing extensive management and logistical experience. In the same year, the office of Economic Development in Virginia introduced Carlos to the Lynchburg, VA facility owners which Solarix acquired in July 2024.
